Almost.
Hadley and I will be back "home" on March 8th. I cannot wait to get back to my husband and get Hadley back on her routine. She is just now starting to sleep a little better here and that is definitely helping my stress level. Since we have been home Hadley has tried peas and carrots and hates peas. I don't blame her. It amazed me at how orange her poop was after trying carrots. Oh, the little things in life.
I am excited to say that Adam and I decided to ditch Verizon and switch to AT&T where our phone bill will be $100 cheaper. I am waiting for this phone to come in the mail tomorrow or Tuesday.
It seems pretty fancy! We were going to get iphones but my husband said that this phone trumps the iphones, so we shall see. I am so excited to have a phone with apps and internet. I can check facebook and bump from my phone. Heaven.
We had family pictures taken yesterday and I cannot wait to see them so I can post some. I wish Adam had been with me because I would love to have pictures of the three of us but it doesn't look like that is going to happen for awhile.
Hopefully I will get back to blogging regularly when I get home!

I suck
I am terrible at this blogging thing. I have been in Tennessee since the 17th and I have totally let my blog fall behind. I haven't really had any time to update because Hadley has been horrible. She will not sleep and is completely out of her routine. I have decided that we will not be flying back home till she is at least a year old because it is so hard on both of us. I had her in such a good routine at home and she was sleeping so good and now all of that is ruined because we came home. It will take me so long to get her back on track when we come home March 8th. I cannot wait to go back home. I miss Adam so much and not to mention my own bed, house, and Hadley's crib! I despise pack n' plays.
Let's see what has happened since I have been home.
1. Hadley has tried apples and peas.
2. Hadley got a big girl stroller, aka umbrella stroller.
3. Hadley got her bangs trimmed.
I think that's all the big accomplishments that we have achieved in our past week. I have pictures of number 2&3 but I will have to add those later. I need to try and get some sleep because Hadley has been going to bed no earlier than midnight and I just put her down at 11:30 and I am praying that she stays asleep! I will try and update again soon..not that anybody but myself reads this.
Edited to add: Blogger will not let me upload pictures from my moms mac for some odd reason, so I will have to do it when I get back to Texas.

Happy Valentine's Day!!
This is the best Valentine's Day because I get to spend it with my husband and my little one! Her first Valentine's Day! Last year Adam was in Korea for our first Valentine's Day together, and we aren't doing anything special this year, mainly because we don't have anybody out here in Texas that we know to watch Hadley, but that's ok. Hadley and I are heading back to Tennessee for 3 weeks Thursday morning so I know he wants to spend his time with her anyways.
We started Hadley on sweet potatoes last night and she loved them. She ate 2 ounces. She is a good eater when it comes to her solids. She has slowed down her formula intake since starting solids but she seems to be fine with that. It worried me at first, but she is still having her normal wet and dirty diapers. She is awful whiney as usual, but I think that she is trying to cut some teeth. At least that is my excuse for her excessive whineyness.
Oh, Hadley is also 5 months old today! How could I almost forget that?! I posted some pictures from our Valentine's Day shoot already but here is one more of my precious little one!

Babywearing
A week from today Hadley and I will be visiting our family and friends in Tennessee. We are so lucky that we have been able to come home twice in 5 months. But, let me tell you, flying by yourself with a baby is no easy task. If I didn't wear Hadley then I would never be able to make it through the airports. It also takes a lot of planning and a lot of things to pack.
Anyways, I have had my eye on buying a ring sling but really can't afford one right now. Currently I have a Moby wrap and a sling from Sevenslings. I like the Moby, but really it is a pain in the ass. I don't even try to use it out of the house. So when I am flying alone with Hadley I use my sling and Hadley is starting to get a little big for it. I found a website earlier called Sleepingbaby that has some reasonable priced ring slings that I am going to buy when I get my income tax refund back. I love babywearing and thinks it's an awesome way to bond with your baby and really good for fussy baby. Lord knows I have a fussy baby.

Laughing at myself
Today I went to Wal-Mart to pick up some nursery water, diapers, peas and sweet potatoes. I made the peas earlier today and pureed them and they turned out great..except for the fact that peas are nasty. I just finished baking my sweet potatoes and noticed something very weird while taking the skins off. My first potato out of three was yellow. I proceeded to peel the other potato and noticed it was bright orange.
Hmm...
I have never ate or made sweet potatoes in my life. I knew they were supposed to be orange but I had no clue if this yellow potato was ok to go ahead and puree. What makes this worse is that I called my mom and sister and neither of them had made sweet potatos either. So they were no help. I decided to throw it out even though it tasted the same. I really should have taken pictures. I just have to laugh at myself about how ridiculous of a cook/baker I am. I really need some lessons.
The good news is that I have bananas, avocados, peas, and sweet potatoes in my freezer now!
I would also like to add that I now think it's crazy if you don't make your own baby food. It saves a ton of money! I am so excited about this.

Dear Eczema..I hate you
Well I took Hadley to the doctor this morning because she was having a serious rash and her head was so dry that she was scratching the crap out of it. Poor baby would cry when she scratched her head.. I couldn't take it anymore so I was determined to get somebody to help me. It turns out that it was just her eczema getting worse. I was worried that she was allergic to rice cereal, but silly me..it was just her eczema. I feel so stupid for taking her back in but now I feel better knowing that it wasn't the food she was allergic to. Something I also learned was that fleece makes eczema worse...well that's great because her swaddle is fleece. I have been making it worse without even knowing. Lovely.
So, we were prescribed another steroid cream and benadryl to give her at night time and she told me to stop swaddling her. GREAT. I am so nervous to stop swaddling my almost 5 month old. I have been putting it off as long as possible. I am so scared that she won't sleep without it, but this benadryl may keep her asleep. She has been sleeping horribly anyways. She won't stay asleep longer than 30 minutes at a time.. so we shall see how quitting swaddling cold turkey tonight works. Wish me luck.
Now for a picture of the day. She is always the happiest in the mornings. And more irritable throughout the day because she gets so tired of being itchy. I don't blame her.

Baby food!
This weekend I decided I am going to make Hadley's baby food! I am very excited about doing this. I started her on rice cereal a couple weeks ago and she really liked it, but she started developing a rash and hives on her belly and chest so I decided to take her off of it.
So, Saturday night I started her on bananas while waiting on the avocados to ripen. Bananas are so easy to make. All you need is to peel a ripe banana and smash with a fork, with a little bit of water. The second night I made a batch and decided to use my hand blender and that was a lot easier, in my opinion. I still added a little water and then put the puree in ice cube trays.
It's so easy...so far. I am going to make the avocados later today and they are prepared the same way so it shouldn't be too bad.
In other news, I am taking Hadley to the doctor tomorrow morning to discuss her constant crying and whineyness...something is not right and it's breaking my heart.

To blog or not to blog?
So I started a blog back when I was pregnant and obviously that didn't come to be. I really wish that I had stuck with it because I have a horrible memory and I want to remember every precious little moment of my daughter's life. That's why I am here today. I am bound and determined to blog at least every week day to remember the little milestones of Hadley's life.
With that being said, how about a little catch up in pictures.
Hadley Madison was born September 14th, 2010 at 8:30 p.m. after 5 hours of active back labor. I am proud to say that I had her vaginally with an Epidural and breastfed as soon as she was placed in my arms.
8 lbs and 21 inches of pure perfection!
