My "garden"

My little windowsill garden started with a trip to Target. If you know me then you know I am a huge fan of the dollar aisle and always buy something from there every time I go. I stumbled upon these little mini pots to grow flowers, herbs, and vegetables. These little pots are only $1!

They are called Buzzy Seeds and they have a pretty wide variety of awesome little products. I currently have sunflowers, tomatoes, strawberries, and poppies growing at my house.

My sunflowers

My poppy, strawberries, and tomatoes.

They say guarenteed to grow, and so far they have not failed me. I have never grown anything in my life and I would LOVE to have a real garden if we owned this house. Soon I am going to have to transfer the sunflowers to my yard as I am told they get very tall. I'm so excited! I can't wait to eat something I have grown!

Since finding these at Target for $1 I found them at Walmart for .97 and they have more of a variety and carry other fun little greenhouse projects for the kids!

Accidents happen

Yesterday on our way to post we were in the middle of a 6-car pile up. It wasn't anything serious and we are all fine, but it was scary none the less. This was the first wreck that Hadley has been in and my immediate thought was her. She is fine and didn't even really know anything happened. We stopped in time not to hit the car in front of us, but we were hit in the rear end pretty good. Our car is in the shop and probably will be for a couple of weeks.

I am just so glad that none of us were hurt because I just couldn't imagine.

Enjoying Spring!

We are really enjoying this beautiful weather and getting to spend more time outside. I have added daily walks pushing Hadley in the stroller to our routine. It helps me get in a little bit of cardio. I tried to jog today and it was not easy. My foot is getting there, but it's not 100% yet.

We spend a lot of time playing with chalk, bubbles and playing in puddles. Hadley's new favorite game is jumping in puddles..and it is a very messy game.

We have also made friends finally! A friend I have known on the internet for awhile moved here recently and we have been spending some time with her and her little girl. I am so happy to have Hadley around another kid her age and hopefully work out some of her shyness.

How adorable are they? Very!

And let's not forget that we have been visiting our favorite place a little bit more.

The park!

Oh, and in case you were wondering about our little hamsters...they are still alive! It seems hamsters are much easier to keep alive than fish. Thank God.

Hadley's first pet.

We have known for awhile that Hadley would love to have a pet. She would be in heaven if we got her a cat, but we aren't allowed to have them at our house. On a whim yesterday we decided to get Hadley a fish. We actually got her 3 goldfish and a little tank/carrier thing.

She was so excited about her pets and we named them Jake, Izzie and Captain Hook.
We woke up the next morning and they were dead. They didn't even last 24 hours. It might have been because we didn't actually buy a tank with a filter, but we thought goldfish would be fine without one. I don't now. We had a lot of fish when Hadley was a baby and we didn't have good luck with them either. Obviously fish just isn't our thing.

They don't look dead, huh?

So, Adam took a trip to town and came back with 2 hamsters! I had no idea! We have named them Gaspard and Lisa and Hadley is in love! They are so much more fun than fish. Much more entertaining and Hadley can actually pet them. I really hope that these little guys hang around for awhile because I will really devastated for Hadley if they die. She didn't care about the fish dying. Ha!

Easter Weekend

Our Easter weekend was a long and productive one. We may have went a little overboard with money and activities. Ha! Saturday we decided to take Hadley to one of the parks on post that we haven't been to before and it was a hit! It was so much nicer and bigger than the one I usually take her to beside our house. There was tons to do and a lot of stuff that made me nervous. It's a good thing daddy was with us because I can't really run after her or play on all the things like yet like I used to.

After we left the park we decided to grab lunch at Outback. Yum.

Sunday morning Hadley woke up to her Easter basket sitting in the living room floor.

The basket, er bucket, includes a coloring book, Doc Mcstuffins activity kid, Dr. Seuss book, bubbles, mini magnadoodle, bandaids and tons of candy.

We also threw in her gardening gloves and tools that we bought her the day before.
We spent a good part of the day outside redoing our flower bed and playing in puddles.

I wish so bad that I had taken a before picture because the previous owners completely neglected this flower bed. We trimmed the bushes and took up all the grass and weeds and laid down pebbles. After we got done doing that I took Hadley inside to get cleaned up and it was time to dye our eggs. She was really exciting about doing this.

I was so happy with how pretty our eggs turned out! So colorful! The decorating part didn't last long because she wanted to eat them. She ate 3 of them under 5 minutes. I call that a success!

Monday we took a little trip to Walmart and ending up buying a scale, a tent for the beach and Hadley a bike. Yeah, I told you we spent the money this weekend.

The helmet kills me. The smallest one they had is still too big. She is so adorable though, huh?

And of course the tent was a huge hit. She was so bummed when we had to take it down. I can't wait to hit the beach!

I hope your Easter weekend was as fun as ours was!
