First fair

Last night I decided at the last minute that I wanted to take Hadley to the fair. I say last minute, but I have been thinking about it for the last week. I only semi regret it because it was so expensive and our bank account is not happy with me.

The first ride we did was the ferris wheel and Hadley loved it. She declared it her favorite ride. I did not like it. My child is brave.
She rode pretty much all of the little kiddie rides and had a blast. She smiled the whole time. (Except for the guy wouldn't let her on the rollercoaster caterpillar ride because she wasn't tall enough.)
There was a toddler driving school in expo center with various little cars like the cozy coupe that you drove around traffic cones and she loved it. She has actually never been in a cozy coupe or anything like that, so it took her a minute to figure out how to move her feet to make the car move. After she figured out she tried every different kind of car they had.
Of course the thing I was excited the most about was the animals. Goats, cows, horses, kangaroos, zebra, rabbits, sheep, etc. Hadley always loves the goats, so that was the only picture I took of her visiting the animals.
Before leaving we had to have some fattening fair food and decided on ribbon fries, funnel cakes, and lemonade. Hadley noticed the blow up dolphins and I paid $5 for that thing just to avoid the guy guessing my weight. Ugh.
That stupid $5 dolphin ended up having a hole in it that I am blowing up multiple times a day.
I guess the important part was that she had a blast. That's all that matters in the end anyway. I stared in awe of my child while she was riding those rides and how easily she finds joy. I love that little girl so much.

My dear girl is 3

My little girl turned 3 on September 14th. The week of her birthday I really had a hard time accepting that my baby was turning 3. I was a cranky, emotional mess all week. I meant to write this sweet, sappy post before her birthday, but I just didn't get around to it. So, here is a replay of our awesome weekend spent with my parents with lots of pictures. Enjoy!

My parents arrived Thursday night and Hadley was so happy to see them. Friday morning we took of to the beach. We decided to drive to Wilmington, NC and check out the beaches over there. Do something new.

I had some really yummy crab legs
Saturday was Hadley's birthday and Adam and I got up early to blow up 72 balloons and we put about 50 of those in Hadley's room for her to wake up to. The kid LOVES balloons, so she was one happy girl!

We got ready and met our dear friend Krys and her son Jackson to play at Monkey Joes. After we played our hearts out at Monkey Joes we came back to our house for pizza, cake, and presents.
Daddy did a great job decorating the house all by himself!
We rested a little bit after her party and then mom and I decided to take Hadley to the mall because mom wanted to get her first Build-a-Bear. We let the guys stay home and watch football and they later met us at Outback for dinner.

I love this pictures so much. Hadley loves cats and already has a stuffed cat named Bella, but as soon as she laid eyes on this cat she wouldn't even consider any of the other ones. She named her kitty cat and she has a little rainbow tutu. It was a really cute experience that we may continue each year.
Sunday morning was leaving day and we decided to have breakfast at Ihop and mom and Freddy would leave from there. We had a great breakfast and Hadley did her goodbyes surprisingly well.
We had such a great weekend and I am so thankful for my parents because they made all of our fun possible. I also so proud of Hadley because she was so good and well behaved all weekend. It was a birthday miracle!

The first haircut

Yes, you read that right. The first haircut. The first haircut 5 days shy of her 3rd birthday.

And I did it myself...yeah.
If I had to do it over I would have probably paid someone.
So, the plan was just to take a tiny bit off at a time so I didn't cut more than I wanted to, and then Adam wanted to cut some and this is what happened.
This huge cut then resulted in this uneven haircut.
I later fixed it because at this point she was over us cutting her hair. I think it looks better now, but I'm not 100% happy with it. It does feel and look better, and it 90% less tatty, so I guess it's pretty much a win.

Hello September!

Aww, I love September.

August is officially behind us and we are one step closer to hoodies, boots, and pumpkin spice lattes. (that of which I have already had)

September is going to be full of fun stuff! Hadley's birthday is on the 14th and mine is on the 29th. My mom is hopefully coming in for Hadley's birthday and that's really exciting if that works out. I think I have finally decided to have a get together at Monkey Joe's with her friend Jackson and come back to the house afterwards for lunch, cake, and presents. This will be the first year she hasn't really had a party, and I'm a little sad about it, but that's what happens when you don't live around any family and don't have many friends.
September also means that in just one more month we will find out if we are staying here or moving to Washington. I can't wait to find out our orders. I am so tired of waiting and playing what if. Moving across the United States takes some preparation, so if we go that path I would like to know as soon as possible. Keep your fingers crossed that we are staying here though! Even if we stay here we are looking for a new house.
Oh yeah, September also starts back story time at the library!

Of course I have some pictures to wrap up August!
