Blogging from the car

So, I think I have mentioned that naptime is my blogging time. When that time doesn't come around I resort to driving the kid around until she falls asleep and now I am blogging from the parking lot with my tall iced black tea. I am getting pretty tired of the napless days, but you know that already.

Yesterday was Hadley's 18 month checkup. Everything went well. 20.9 pounds, 31 inches. No shots. She seems to have allergies or a cold right now, not really sure which. She has been waking up with a crusty, nasty nose. No fun.

It's 2 weeks until our trip to Tennessee. Time is going by so slowly.

I have some new pictures, but every time I upload from the Blogger app they look awful. I will add them anyway.

Ah, Saturday!

I love Saturdays.

Saturday is usually always a day where we get out of the house and do something, and today is no exception. We are about to go out to eat and go shopping at Target! Those are two of my favorite things in the world to do.  I think I am going to pick up Hadley a couple more bubbles and some puzzles. The kid is obsessed with puzzle. She is puzzling me to death here lately.

I finally decided to give up on the naptime battles and let her sleep on the couch where she falls asleep. This is SO much less stressful and she sleeps for a pretty decent time there. I do have to be quiet and can't do too much, but that's ok. I would so much rather her sleep than anything else. Now that she is actually napping I find myself enjoying her so much more. She is pretty much sweet and a joy most of the day. It's pretty awesome. Let's hope this continues. I worry about her sleep when we go home in 2 weeks, but it will be worth it in the end.

We've been having fun at the park lately. Look at that face!

I love this weather and we will start going to the pool soon. I'm a little nervous about that. I know she will want to run around now that she is a toddler and that makes me nervous. I don't think she will sit in her stroller and let me lay out in the sun anymore. :(

Sickness sucks

Last week I came down with allergies, the flu, the cold...I don't really know, but it sucked and really kicked my butt for a few days. I'm still a little stuffed up but feel a lot better now. Now that I am feeling better Hadley isn't feeling too well. She has been running a fever for the past 4 days and I finally took her into the doctor today. She tested negative for strep, flu and uti so the doctor is guessing she just has a virus. If her fever doesn't go away by Thursday I will be taking her back in to have her blood checked. Let's just say I hope this fever goes away and I don't have to go back. She already seems to feel better.

Adam is gone for the week and I have been pretty bored out of my mind. We have had a cold snap so I haven't been taking Hadley outside. It's supposed to get warmed towards the end of the week so hopefully we can hit up the park. The kid loves the park.

Oh, she now weighs 21 pounds, 31 inches. She is getting so big. I love how sweet and silly she is these days, when she's not crying and wallowing me to death. Here are some recent pictures. As usual.

This will be a picture post since I don't have much to say. I have been sick for the past couple of days and don't really feel like doing anything. We are having crazy nap battles around here and I just want to crawl in a hole and  hide, so yeah.

At least she's cute.

Still rear facing!

Hadley is 18 months!

Well, she will be18 months tomorrow, but I have time to write the post today.

I can't believe my little girl is 18 months. That means she is almost 2! What the crap? I don't know if I want her to grow up. It kind of makes me sad that she isn't a baby anymore, but she is so much fun at this age. Much more fun than when she was a baby. So anyway, here's what's up with her.

She probably weighs 21 lbs and 31 inches long.
She is wearing 3-4 size shoes. It just depends on the brand.
She is in 18-24 month top and 12-18 month pants.
She is still rear facing in her carseat.
She knows about 25 words or so, I can't really keep up anymore.
She knows where all of her body parts are.
She loves to spin in circles and bounce on the couch.
She has decided taking her shirt off is fun. I don't think so.
She adores her daddy, as usual.
She is still scared of people, but I'm hoping she will get over that soon with all of our trips out.

Here are some recent pictures.

I should update...

Did I mention I got my car fixed and finally got new tags for it today?!?!!!!

If you can't tell, I'm super excited. Hello freedom.
So, I have been going to the gym for last 3 days. I still feel pretty weird and uncomfortable there, but I'm getting used to it. I have a little bit of a social anxiety from being without a car for the past 2 years, so yeah. I have also started to lay in the tanning bed, well technically stand, because it's a stand up bed. I know some people may frown down upon this, but it makes me feel better about myself and it's something I haven't done in like 3 or 4 years, so yeah. I can't wait until it's warm enough to lay by the pool. I wonder if Hadley will even let me.

Today is the one month countdown until I go home. I have sold enough of my junk of Craigslist and then some to have plenty of money to go on. I'm pretty proud of myself. I'm going to go shopping tomorrow to get some new shorts, colored skinnies, yoga pants, headphones, and possibly some new sandals. Old Navy is having a huge stock up sale right now and I ordered Hadley a bunch of Spring/Summer stuff yesterday. I'm pretty excited to get her stuff. Now I just need to buy her a couple new pairs of shoes.

So yeah, nothing too exciting, but that's what's going on in my world. Hadley is a silly mess as usual. She will be turning 18 months next week and I will try to do my best to do a post about it.

Paci weaning update

Paci weaning, a la cold turkey, is going pretty good for the most part. I started on Monday by taking it away cold turkey for her nap. She screamed and after 10 minutes I went in and patted her until she fell asleep. She only napped 30 minutes that day. At night she went down without a peep and slept until 5. I went in and patted her and slept until her normal 7.

The last few days have been about the same. She is still crying at nap time and I have to go in and pat her until she falls asleep. It only takes like 3 minutes though. She is napping a little longer with each day, but I just got her to sleep today so I pray she sleeps for at least an hour. Nights have been great. She goes to sleep without a peep and sleeps until 7. Thank God. I was so worried about nights. I can deal with crying at naps, but not nights.
So there's that. Good luck to my fellow moms out there who are about to venture into the world of paci weaning. It sucks.
