Big things happening...

I can't believe how long it's been since I updated. I'm awful.

Anyways, Adam and I have decided that Hadley and I will stay in Tennessee until he gets their in November. So, I will be in Tennessee for 4 months or so. This is both exciting for me and a little scary I guess. I feel like I really need this time to get away and think about things, but I hate that Hadley will be away from Adam that long. She adores her daddy. Hopefully everything will be fine, we leave in exactly 2 weeks.

I managed to get Hadley's 2 year check-up scheduled before we leave, a month before she actually turns 2. The one thing about military healthcare is that it's really hard to find anyone who takes it if you're not near a military base. If Hadley gets sick, or I get sick while we are home we will have to go to the ER or an Urgent Care that carries TriCare. Neither of those places are fun to go to. So hopefully I can get some things knocked out before we leave.

Can you imagine how stressful it is to pack for 4 months? That's basically everything I have that I need to fit in 2 suitcases and be under 50 pounds. I don't see that happening...2 suitcases, a carseat, a stroller and the kid. Fun fun...

More changes

Well, yesterday we decided to sell my car. It was more of a burden to us than anything and things kept messing up with it that we just couldn't afford to fix all the time. Plus, it wasn't even worth moving to North Carolina. So, the plan is the use that money for a downpayment and rent for the new house and get another car when tax return comes around.

An exciting bit of news is that I'm enrolling to take online classes to become a medical administrative assistant. I am hoping to complete this in less than 6 months and start working when we get to North Carolina. I am so nervous about returning to the real world and putting Hadley in daycare. I am really struggling with putting her in daycare. I'm scared to death, but I know that I need to help the family out. Wish me luck!

I am also getting together ideas to decorate Hadley's new room when we move. I am going with an orange and teal theme with some chevron thrown in and I am so excited to decorate her room! I am so ready to move and get our new life started! This is the inspiration for her room and if anybody has any ideas to add, please suggest them!

Teal chevron fabric for windows and possible pillow covers.   The nursey that inspired this.
A mattress sheet.  A chevron picture frame.

Instadump!

Hadley is 22 months!

Well, she was last Friday, but you know how behind I get.

Hadley is now 22 months and I could really cry at the fact that she is going to be 2 in 2 short months. This is much harder on me than when she turned 1. When she turned 1 I was so excited because the first year had been so rough that I just knew it had to get better. Now that Hadley is getting older I found myself changing my mind about having a second child, but Adam is still very adament that he doesn't want another, which kind of makes me really sad. I really doubt he will change his mind. I just need to shake this baby fever somehow.

Hadley still weighs 21 pounds and is maybe 32 inches tall. I really have no idea on the height. I only know the weight because we had to take her to urgent care this weekend for a fever and of course they couldn't find anything wrong with her, so I have no clue why she was such a hot mess this weekend. She wouldn't even sleep, I was about to go crazy. She seems better now though. I don't know that much has really changed since I updated about her last. She is still a talking machine and sometimes I really have no clue what she is saying. I think she is trying to put together sentences, and sometimes it's very clear that she is. This morning she put bye and daddy together for once. That was big. She has SO many words, but I have been waiting on the sentences to come.

We bought her a potty last month, but she has no interest in it and I'm actually kind of glad that she doesn't because I realize how hard that would be on us with all the upcoming travelling we are about to be doing. There is no way I want to be in the middle of potting training while flying home and visiting family, and I really don't want to be in the middle of it when we are driving 24+ hours home in November. So for now, unless she really shows some interest, I am going to try and put it off until we are settled into North Carolina.

Instagram dump...Not

Well, I was going to do an Instagram dump, but it's not letting me save the pictures that I sent to my email. Anybody know why? I didn't have this problem when I did a dump last time. So, now there are 26 pictures sitting in my inbox. :(

Have I told you that I found out when we are moving to North Carolina? We will be making the move around November 1st. Adam doesn't have to report to Fort Bragg until December 9th, so we are going to spend some time at home before driving the rest of the way up there. I am so excited that we will get to be spending Thanksgiving and Christmas with our family all together for once. I cannot wait to get this move going!

It's a month until we fly to Tennessee, for hopefully the last time in a long time. I have a lot of exciting stuff coming up, huh? That's really all that's been going on around here though. It's been pretty boring. My car is messed up yet again so we are back to being a one car household and probably will for awhile because we are now hoping to sell it before we move. Wish me luck that I will have a car again someday. Ugh.

Getting creative

Around here I really like to do creative things with Hadley as much as I can instead of focusing her attention on toys. Of course we all know that Pinterest has a ton of ideas for keeping toddlers busy and of course I have tried some of those out. One of the things we have done in rainbow rice, which is what Hadley is playing with right this minute.

It's really simple. The way I did it was throw about a cup of rice in a ziplock bag along with 1 tablespoon rubbing alcohol and a little bit of food color and shake it up. I put all the different colors in the oven for about 15 minutes until they were dry.
Here is the link for the rainbow rice.

It keeps her entertained for at least 30 minutes. It's pretty awesome, cheap and easy.

Another hit has been homemade playdough. This was really simple too.
Here is the link to that recipe. It's so much better than the kind you buy from the store. It smells so good! The only downside is that you have to keep it in the fridge and it is only supposed to last about a month.

Those are the 2 I have had the most success with. I just bought Hadley poms and pipe cleaners, but she didn't care too much for the pipe cleaners....now off to vaccum up rice!

So behind!

I have been wanting to post for over a week now, but my WiFi has been down and I don't like posting from my phone, like I am now.

Adam came home Friday and he was selected!!!!! This means we will for sure be moving to North Carolina. Now we just wait for his orders to tell us when. Probably the first of the year. We are so excited about this! We will be so much closer to home!

I have tried a couple new crafts with Hadley that I would like to make their own post for because they are pretty awesome. Hopefully soon.

Speaking of Hadley. She is such a mess, as usual. I can't believe how big she is getting and it makes me sad that she is turning 2 in almost 2 months. Her getting older has caused some serious baby fever, but Adam isn't on board for at least another year or 2. :(

I can't remember if I mentioned that we are going home August 13- September 5. I am really looking forward to it!

Hopefully my WiFi will be back soon and I can make some more posts. Pictures from my phone look awful, so I refuse.
